Wave Report (What’s Happening)

September 23, 2020

I am  accepting clients at Kuna Counseling Center, in Kuna and now also at Real Solutions Counseling in Downtown Boise, under the supervision of Jim Grigg, LMFT, LCPC.  At Real Solutions, I am learning to work with refugees in the Congolese community as well as being available to in-office clients with Idaho Medicaid.

I’m also available in my private practice under the supervision of Angel Ford, LCSW. Angel is new to supervision and has a business providing Christ-centered coaching. In my private practice, I am available for home visit, visit to your private office or telehealth currently, due to the COVID 19 pandemic. I am hoping to open another office soon to be available for more in person visits.

I am no longer providing any Independent Intervention Professional Services privately. This was a difficult decision to make as I loved working with my clients in the children’s developmental program. It was necessary for my health and family’s needs, as well as to focus on 1 goal: licensing, which I’ve been working toward since arriving in Idaho!

Beginning on October 12, 2020, a new group will be available at Kuna Counseling Center. This will be a 6-8 week Women’s Empowerment Group, to support women in the community in learning about self care, boundaries, relationships, mindfulness including Yoga, positive parenting techniques, and more. Group is limited to 8 women. This group may repeat, if there is sufficient response. The group begins at 6:30pm and ends by 8pm. You must register to attend.

Do you need services and have Medicaid? Now, you can see me at Kuna Counseling Center shared office or at my private office under the supervision and billing of Jim Grigg, LCPC, LMFT at Kuna Counseling. Jim has graciously agreed to be my supervisor along with Michael Grigg, LMFT,  in order to serve more clients. Michael will continue to supervise my private practice. KCC office hours are currently Tuesdays from 9am-3pm. If you need to be seen as a medicaid client outside those hours, you can see me in my Garden City office, still under the guidance and billing of KCC. KCC office hours with me are relational, for the most part. This means that I will take on couple and family appointments as well as children who have trauma and will have a parent/guardian in session with them. Private pay clients at my office will be billed by Breton Wellness, LLC as usual, by check, money order or credit/debit card through the IvyPay App.

The Race Is On! In an effort to gain as many Couple and Family hours as possible between now and June 01, I will be offering Couple and Family services by donation, when you mention this ad! This means that if you feel led to contribute, you may do so and will be greatly appreciated, AND if you are unable to contribute, you will receive services for free during this time. Why? I am hoping to apply for associate licensing ( by July 18), in time for when the board meets on July 25th and am in need of more of those specific hours to be eligible. Need some help, ideas, or just curious about your relationship health? Call now and book your free assessment and scheduled sessions for the near future. Lets work together to make this your relationship’s growth year!

In honor of Pay It Forward Day, 1 new family will receive 4 free couple, parent-child or family sessions from Breton Wellness, during the month of May! With divorce rates rising, parents having trouble co-parenting and kids struggling, I feel that it is important to reach into our community and help support these important relationships. Time and availability is limited, so be the first to schedule your appointment!

No longer located in just one spot, Breton Wellness has decided to offer you, the client, more options to meet in Nampa, Boise or Meridian as we are expanding to meet the needs of people in the Treasure valley. We have the option to meet in these locations thanks to the Regus system available in Ada and Canyon counties. Wherever you live locally, we can find an office in the location most preferred of those three cities. On occasion, I may be available to meet in-home or in your private office, depending on location, the safety of the situation and reasons for the need.

Yep. I just changed the name of the business. It was long and didn’t fit well on business cards, nor do I want you or me to have to write that out on things. Registered the new name with the secretary of state’s office today, so it’s official. I like this better. It better represents what were’s all trying to achieve. Wellness. Also, as much as I appreciate Kevin being a supervisor for me, the state requires that I have an LMFT for a supervisor for the rest of my hours. As of next week, my new supervisor will be Michael Grigg, LMFT-4917 and I’m very happy to have him on board because he also moved here from another state, so he has already navigated the transition. Thank you again, Kevin! Welcome aboard Michael!

Under New Supervision! Sadly, our Sandy will no longer be providing supervision services for interns. Today, I met with a new supervisor in Boise, Kevin Padden, LCPC-5496. Kevin will be providing clinical supervision for Marie. Thank you, Kevin and welcome!

January 2017

Confirmed! National MFT Licensing Exam passed on the first attempt on 12/15/2016. This means that Marie is one step closer to being licensed in Idaho. When hours requirement is met, she can apply to be a Licensed Associate Marriage and Family Therapist with the Idaho Board of Occupational Licenses. Changing states is a process, but Marie is working toward her goals.

Thursday, October 20th, 2016. Free Community Webinar!

” Wiring your Baby’s Brain for Attachment”

In this webinar, I’ll cover your baby’s brain and development, what your baby needs, sleep issues, and crying. I’ll also cover how you, as a parent can have a positive effect on your baby’s quality of life, beginning in infancy. It is well known that the first few years are the most important years in a child’s life for building trust and ability to bond with others. It all starts with parents.

This training is developed and presented by Marie Breton, MFTI-5910, with the approval and support of Donna Hislop, LCSW and Sandra Phillips, LCSW.  It is based on “The Science of Parenting,” the work of Margot Sunderland, Psychotherapist and Director of Education and Training for the Centre for Child Mental Health in London.  Call Jessica Trent at STARR. Ph: 208.908.6399 for registration. Hosted by Idaho Federation of Families for Children’s Mental Health and Sponsored by STARR Family Behavioral Health. Call STARR now for more info!
